Human Platelet Lysate (HPL) provides superior cell performance and cell expansion when compared to other supplements such as FBS or chemically defined media. Captivate Bio's offers PLTGold® human platelet lysate, a revolutionary xeno-free, heparin-free supplement which provides rapid cell expansion with proven success across various cell types including MSCs and immune cells. Available in research and clinical grades, PLTGold is an excellent supplement to cell culture media and for use in both 2D and 3D culture systems with a focus on research and cell therapy applications.
PLTGold contains all the growth factors and proteins that maximize cell growth without the need to worry about animal-based additives or lot-to-lot variability. Other xeno-free hPLs compromise purity with particulates. With PLTGold there is no clot formation and no need for heparin.
Clinical grade or GMP-grade PLTGold is for use in clinical research and large-scale manufacturing of cells. Clinical grade PLTGold products are further certified to be endotoxin free.

Yes, with HPL it is possible to add too much to your cultures. We’ve seen that HPL can slow the growth of MSCs at high concentrations. Typically, we recommend using human platelet lysate at 2%-10% concentrations depending on your cell type.
