Nicotinamide

Nicotinamide (NAM) belongs to vitamin B family and is the amide form of vitamin B3. NAM is present in food and is a constituent of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP). Nicotinamide controls cell metabolism, mitochondrial functions, and energy generation. Nicotinamide promotes natural killer cells proliferation and survival. NAM may elicit therapeutic benefits in Alzheimer′s, Parkinson′s, and Huntington′s diseases.
