Captivate Bio now offers PLUS™ GMP Grade (Gamma Irradiated) Human Platelet Lysate is a xeno-free media supplement derived from human platelets that supports the in vitro propagation and maintenance of human cells. The final frozen product was subjected to gamma irradiation at 25-40 kGy for the safe elimination of unknown pathogens without compromising efficacy.
Sample Collection and Processing PLUS™ GMP Grade (Gamma Irradiated) Human Platelet Lysate is manufactured from platelet apheresis units obtained from blood donors who have been tested for communicable diseases including HIV I/II Antibody, HIV NAT, HTLV I/II Antibody, Hepatitis B Surface Antigen, Hepatitis B Core Antibody, Hepatitis C Virus Antibody, Hepatitis C NAT, West Nile Virus, Trypanosoma cruzi, Zika Virus, Babesia, and RPR for Syphilis.
Platelet apheresis units are subjected to a freeze-thaw process to induce release of growth factors and other proteins. Thawed product is filtered to remove the majority of cell debris and other particulates. The final frozen product is then subject to gamma irradiation.

Using the Cryobag Spike Port To transfer PLUS™ GMP Grade (Gamma Irradiated) Human Platelet Lysate provided in a cryobag, use the spike port. Remove the spike port cap and insert a spike through the septum. Support the septum of the cryo-bag port with thumb and index finger. Ensure the sides of the cryobag are parallel to both the port and the spike being inserted to prevent inadvertent piercing of the cryobag.
